Donald A. Holzworth, Chairman of the Board of Futures Group International, has been appointed to a 4-year term on the President’s Advisory Council for HIV/AIDS (PACHA).
PACHA is a 21-member organization of experts appointed to advise the President and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on programs and policies intended to promote effective prevention of HIV disease, and to advance research on HIV disease and AIDS.
Members of the committee are selected by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services based on expertise in, or knowledge of, matters concerning HIV and AIDS.
Mr. Holzworth has been appointed to the International Subcommittee of PACHA based on his 33-year career supporting and guiding public and private-sector efforts to improve human health through research, product development, and public health services. The International Subcommittee influences U.S. international HIV/AIDS Policy and will guide the Obama administration’s consideration of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and other public resources for fighting HIV/AIDS around the world.
“Don’s longstanding passion and commitment to international public health and education will be an asset to the President’s Advisory Council. His leadership and innovative ideas will contribute to practical solutions to the complex global AIDS epidemic,” said Chris A. LeGrand, M.S., Chief Executive Officer of Futures Group.
“This is a great honor and coincides nicely with the revitalization of PACHA under President Obama. Futures Group, through its chairman, can positively impact the domestic HIV/AIDS response as we do internationally,” said Farley R. Cleghorn, M.D., M.P.H., Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of Futures Group.
